Conference theme

The conference's theme 'The Remarkable Future' encourages us to explore what the future holds for the actuarial profession, in a world where change is getting faster, technological advances are ever more rapid and the world has never been more connected. It challenges us to ask ourselves how we can innovate, embrace change and adapt to ensure our place in this remarkable future.


Paper presentation

Oral presentation you will be allocated a 55 minute space in the programme, allowing for a 45 minute presentation, 10 minutes for questions and 5 minutes change over time.

Lightning presentation you will be allocated a 10 minute space in the programme, allowing for a 7 minute presentation, 3 minutes for questions.


Abstract Review Criteria

  • Does the abstract capture the interest of potential conference delegates?

  • Does the abstract reflect the conference theme? (i.e. is it providing new thinking or a forward looking focus).

Full paper

Full papers (oral presentations only) are due Monday 8 October.

Terms and Conditions

All NZSA 2018 presenters (and co-presenters) must be registered to attend the Conference and are responsible for their own expenses (including but not limited to travel, transportation, accommodation and meals - except those provided as part of registration). 

By submitting an abstract the presenter agrees for the hosts of NZSA 2018 to copy, print and disseminate your abstract and short biography.
