CALL FOR ABSTRACTS

EXTENDED - NOW OPEN UNTIL WEDNESDAY 3 MAY

The 27th Annual Scientific Meeting of the Stroke Society of Australasia 2017 programme will be a platform for cutting edge research, the latest advances, and effective knowledge translation in the areas of neuro-intervention and-imaging, stroke rehabilitation, recovery, long term care, optimising systems of care, and quality assurance.

Participants wishing to present at the 2017 conference are invited to submit an abstract via the link below. Please read the submission instructions carefully before submitting your abstract. Authors will receive an automatic acknowledgement of the receipt of their abstract via email.

Acute stroke, ICH and intervention
Rehabilitation
Health service delivery and telehealth
Epidemiology, risk factors and TIA
Imaging

New investigators

Your abstract may meet more than one of these themes.

Presentation types

Oral free paper presentation
If your abstract is accepted as an oral presentation you will be allocated a place in the programme. You will be advised your allocated presentation time at the time of abstract acceptance notification. Eight minute presentation with two minutes for Q+A. 

Poster presentation - Visual display only
If your abstract is accepted as a poster, you will be required to produce a poster that will be displayed in the poster display area. The dimensions of the poster boards are designed fit an A0 portrait poster. One poster will be allocated to each board. Please click here for full poster guidelines.  

 

Abstract format

The following format must be followed for all abstracts:

Title
Authors
Affiliations: affiliation (do not include titles or degrees), city, country

Abstract
Maximum of 250 words
Do not insert any tables or figures
Check spelling and grammar. Submitted material will be published in Meeting materials - the abstract should, therefore, contain no errors
Standard scientific abbreviations may be used - non-standard abbreviations should be included in parenthesis after the first use of the full word
Do not indent paragraphs

Present sufficient data to support conclusions - it is unsatisfactory to use statements such as "data will be presented" or "results will be discussed"

The decision to accept an abstract is at the discretion of the Scientific Programme Committee. A condition of acceptance of the abstract is that at least one author or nominated presenter registers for the conference.

 

Other Information

Acceptance of abstracts
Authors will be advised of acceptance on Monday 29 May. 

Publication of abstracts
Accepted abstracts will be included in Meeting materials such as the website and may be published in a journal.

Registration
All presenters must register to attend the Meeting and are responsible for their own travel, accommodation and registration expenses. Registration will be available from Wednesday 22 February 2017.
Presenters must be registered by Friday 30 June to guarantee a place in the programme. Presenters will be eligible for registration at the early bird rate.
